the world would be

i just remembered a couple of lines that i had written when i was in 6th std. i remember having read those lines in the general body meeting of my house at school then, and everybody had burst out laughing. i dont remember the complete poem but just 4 lines which are:

If there were no schools and no books to study
The world would be a better place
If there were no teachers and no one to scold
The world would be a wonderful place.

now i thought that why shouldn't i try to complete this poem. so here goes my latest attempt at trying to bring back those memories. hope it maintains at least a little semblance of seriousness with which i have undertaken this task. its dedicated to all my teachers who were always there for me. hope they wouldn't mind me writing this.

THE WORLD WOULD BE
When i was lazing around a couple of days back,
A thought came to me, my brain to rack.
If there were no schools and no books to study,
What would i do and where would i be?
A delightful prospect crossed my mind
A wonderful life it would be, if i could find.
There would be no teachers, no one to scold,
And no reminiscing of those days, when i'll be old.
No getting out of bed, so early in the morn,
And thinking of home-works we hadn't done.
No need of pretensions of being unwell,
Or think of an excuse, to save us from hell.
No need there would be to think of tests,
All day i could spend on the internet and rest.
No worries to trouble me, when i would play,
So beautiful it would be, my life without a care.

here's wishing a happy teachers' day to all our teachers out there.
